MCC Imaging Performance Metrics Steering Committee Seeking Imaging Work Group Participants

We would like to invite you and your colleagues to participate in the new MCC Imaging Performance Metrics initiative. Our goal for this initiative is to:

·     Develop metrics to improve all aspects of clinical trial imaging including sponsor, core lab and site processes. Metrics should be developed for the purpose of identifying “what works” and “what needs improvement”.

·     Provide the ability to utilize metric data as an information and discussion tool for sponsor and core lab decision makers; drive change as appropriate.

This initiative will provide Sponsors and Imaging Labs a baseline set of metrics with a clear explanation of what the metrics mean, how they are derived and how each company can use the metrics to improve efficiency. This will not only eliminate the effort put forth by sponsors to develop, understand and review Imaging performance metrics from multiple Imaging Labs, it will also enable productivity enhancements for the Imaging Labs by allowing them to produce one set of metrics across sponsors (instead of having sponsor-specific metrics which differ from sponsor to sponsor).

As an effort to begin the Imaging Metrics Initiative, the Imaging Performance Metrics Steering Committee would like to identify individuals from your company to participate in working groups.  Our goal is to begin working group meetings in early March.  Initially, three working groups are being created to drive this initiative forward:

Clinical Working Group:  clinical/technical based metrics (ex: reader variability, adjudication, etc…)

Operations Working Group:  study operations metrics reflecting sponsor, core lab and site performance (ex:  image receipt turnaround time, image quality, image processing, etc…)

Outsourcing Working Group: outsourcing, financial metrics (ex:  RFP process, study financial metrics, change orders, etc…)

Please note that any given individual may participate in one or more working groups.  In addition, multiple individuals from the same company may participate in a single working group.

We look forward to working with all of you on this important initiative and hope you will decide to join a MCC Imaging Performance Metrics work group. For additional information about the MCC Imaging Metrics Initiative, please see the MCC Imaging Metrics brief.  Please complete the online work group application form  or contact Linda Sullivan if you are interested in joining a work group.

Thank you,
